Office hours are held exclusively during the period of didactic classes and during the examination session. Outside of these dates, office hours are not held. If information about office hours is unavailable or out of date, please contact the teacher directly by e-mail.

The Library of the Centre for Foreign Language Teaching of the University of Warsaw is a didactic library. CNJO employees, UW students and UW doctoral candidates have the right to borrow books.

Regulations of the CNJO Library

General provisions

The Library of the Centre for Foreign Language Teaching of the University of Warsaw is a didactic library. The right to borrow is granted to: CNJO employees, UW students, UW doctoral candidates. The reader bears full material responsibility for the use of library materials. Failure to comply with the regulations results in the loss of the right to use the Library.

On-site access

The reading room can be used by people who borrow collections from the CNJO library. Reading room users are required to:

  • leave their coats, briefcases and bags in the cloakroom,
  • report to the librarian on duty and sign the attendance book,
  • register publications brought in with the librarian on duty.

Collections located on the shelves are issued by a Library employee. Taking magazines, books and audio-visual materials outside the reading room without the consent of a Library employee is prohibited.

Borrowing

  • Registration in the lending library is made on the basis of an employee or student ID card. Registration should be renewed at the beginning of each academic year.
  • Loans are made on the basis of a completed call slip. When the work is returned, the call slip is destroyed.
  • A student has the right to borrow a book only in order to copy selected fragments.
  • A language teacher has the right to borrow textbooks and audiovisual materials for a given academic year. It is possible to extend the loan after showing the librarian the borrowed items and filling out new call slips.
  • Language teachers can also borrow teaching aids (e.g. players, CDs and DVDs), which must be returned on the same day.
  • Readers are obliged to settle their accounts for borrowed books by the end of classes in the summer semester, at the latest by June 30 of each academic year.
  • Every Library user leaving the University of Warsaw is obliged to obtain a certificate of settlement of obligations.
  • The Library has the right to demand the return of borrowed books before the agreed deadline.
  • Refusal to return books, despite reminders sent by the Library via e-mail, will result in claims being pursued in accordance with the law.
  • The Library defines categories of collections intended for on-site access only.
